Education
The schools are located on an 157-acre campus approximately two miles west of downtown Elba on Highway 166. All school activities and physical plants are located on this campus.
The Elba City Schools have honor programs, many extra-curricular activities for boys and girls, vocational programs and are rated in the top 25% of state schools.
Elba City Schools experience very low incident of serious behavioral problems. Incident reports show that problems relating to drugs, weapons and violence among our students are at a very low level. A very successful Drug Awareness/Resistance Education (DARE) program has a very positive effect on helping students "say no" to drugs. Strong, fair and compassionate discipline is practiced at both schools and the results are seen in low incidence of these behavioral problems.
